PARKERSBURG - A woman was charged with felony grand larceny Tuesday afternoon at Wal-Mart in Parkersburg, Parkersburg police said.
Officer B.J. Depue was taking a shoplifting report at the store on Pike Street when loss prevention employees advised him of another shoplifting that had just occurred.
Tasha June Compton, 31, 1027 Dutch Ridge Road, Parkersburg, was taken into custody for felony grand larceny, accused of filling a shopping cart and her purse with 79 different items and attempting to leave the store without paying, police said. The value of the items was listed at $1,120.89, police said.

Compton was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and released on a $5,000 bond, police said. The possible penalty upon conviction is up to 10 years in prison.
