PARKERSBURG - Blake Lucas and Tyler Green had wins and Ohio Valley University's Chase Long gave preseason No. 1 Joe Brandt of Ashland all he wanted here Tuesday night inside the Elite Sports Center, but the Eagles were too much as the Fighting Scots fell, 42-6, in a dual wrestling match.
OVU head coach Pat Sole's program lost 18 points to forfeits as Eagles Michael Labry (133), Jake Piatt (165) and Ray Canale (184) went unchallenged.
Long, who had previously lost 6-1 at the Ashland University Open back in mid-December to the 197-pound Brandt, suffered a tough 1-0 setback. Although the first period was scoreless, Long had a shot and grabbed the leg of Brandt, but he managed to get out of bounds. Brandt tallied the only point when he got an escape 11 ticks into the second period and Long had a nice shot in the third period on Brandt's right leg, but once again Long wasn't able to convert as the Eagle made it safely out of bounds.

Jon Beam actually gave Ashland University the lead for good at 6-0 when he pinned Kobina Henriques in 5:59 during the 174-pound opening match. Canale then got his forfeit and Brandt's triumph made it 15-0 Eagles.
Lucas, the Fighting Scots' heavyweight, finally got the hosts on the board when he recorded a takedown in overtime for a 3-1 win versus Kurt Schaefer. Lucas evened his match with an escape early in the third and hit his winning move as the clock in overtime was going from one second to zero.
After 125-pounder Max Byrd pinned OVU's Tyree Gardner in 3:33 and Larby got his forfeit, AU held a 27-3 advantage. It was 30-3 after 141-pounder Jake Garringer picked up a 6-1 win versus Nickoloz Varazashvili.
Ohio Valley, which heads to Pennsylvania for a 7 p.m. Saturday dual versus Pitt-Johnstown, got its final victory thanks to Green, who earned a 4-3 decision in his 149-pound match against Bobby Mason. Green took the lead for good when he got a takedown with 19 seconds left in the middle stanza to forge ahead 4-2.
The final contested match came at 157 where OVU's Luke Parsons lost via pin to Zeb Beam, who got the mat slapper in 4:39.
