Together with their parents, Emily Marie Powderly and Alex Thomas Mellion, announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dr. Brian and Yvonne Powderly of Belpre. She is a 2003 graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School, a 2007 graduate of the University of Dayton and a 2011 graduate of the Ohio State University School of Dentistry.
She is a dentist in St. Louis, Mo.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Dr. Joseph and Dianne Mellion of Akron. He is a 2005 graduate of Revere High School in Akron, and a 2011 graduate of Case Western School of Dental Medicine. He is attending St. Louis University to obtain a master's degree in orthodontics.
A wedding and reception are planned for April 20 in Akron.
