Denzil Clinton Wigal, 81, of Washington, W.Va., passed away on Nov. 26, 2012, at his residence.
He was born May 25, 1931 in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Ira Dale and Cleona King Wigal. Denzil was a graduate of Parkersburg High School with the class of 1949. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict from 1951-1955. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mailman after 24 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors and cattle farming. He was a member of AARP, and attended the Church of Christ in Wadesville.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Letha Bibbee Wigal; three children, Dale Eugene (Barbara) Wigal and Reta Jean Lyons, both of Parkersburg and Debra Sue (Floyd) Sims of Washington, W.Va.; one brother, William "Bill" Dwain (June) Wigal of Washington; and one grandson, Anthony Wayne Lyons of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ray Wigal; and an infant brother, Dwight Edward Wigal.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Evangelist Randy Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Wigal Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
