PARKERSBURG - The Christmas program partnering the Parkersburg Police Department and Try-Again Homes is moving forward with a wish-list from children for Santa Claus.
Foster children at Try-Again Homes (THA) have designed a list, asking Santa for the gifts they wish to receive this Christmas. Officers and volunteers ask for the public's help in granting the wishes of the children, said police spokesman Sgt. Greg Collins.
TAH is a nonprofit foster care agency in Parkersburg and Fairmont. It provides foster and adoptive homes for children from birth to 18 years old. Officers have teamed up with the organization to give children a Christmas they wouldn't otherwise receive.
"The officers and staff of the Parkersburg Police Department are involved in cases all too often where children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care," said Collins. "It's very difficult to see a child's life turned upside down because of something that's not their fault."
The list is as follows and can also be found at www.parkersburgpolice.com: Girly stuff (make-up, nail polish, bubble baths, hair supplies, etc.); DVD player; jewelry (for boy and girl); gloves, toboggans, scarves; Wii Dance games; camera; Aeropostale sweat pants size S, M, and L; twin comforter set; vacuum cleaner (child is transitioning out of foster care); Leapfrog touch magic learning bus; Vtech remote racer smart car; kid connection electronic keyboard; CDs (kid friendly); sparkly winter boots girls sizes: 7, 2, and 3; MP3 players (multiple requested); Monster High dolls (multiple requested); Zebra Dream Lite; Bumblebee Dream Lite; cars; trucks; Wolf figurines; Wolf fleece blankets; Turtle Dream Lite; Santa Buddies DVD; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory DVD; Madagascar DVD; Penguin Dream Lite; men's watch; cologne; iPod (multiple requested); art supplies; baby dolls; games (preschool-mobi go game); Nintendo DS light game (pets cats 2); Tinkerbell chair; coloring books; Shark Boy Lava Girl DVD; hair items (pony tail holders, clips, etc); Nintendo DS light game (Nintendo dogs); Mega Tech Optimus Prime; Beyblade metal fury performance destroyer dome; Transformers; Beyblade metal master beyblader gear-beyblaster; Hot Wheels mega loop mayhem; big spiderman figure; Doggy Doo game; Leapfrog my pal violet; Fisher-Price little people zoo; talkers animal sounds zoo; Playskool poppin' park elefun busy ball popper; Fisher-Price little people Disney Cinderella Coach; size 12 girls jeans; sparkly winter boots size 7; DVD player; size 7/8 girls jeans; Sparkly winter boots size 2; Wii Dance game; size 10 girls jeans; sparkly winter boots size 3; Movies (Disney, girly, seasonal); clothing for male/female: all sizes.
