PARKERSBURG - The Christmas program partnering the Parkersburg Police Department and Try-Again Homes is moving forward with a wish-list from children for Santa Claus.
Foster children at Try-Again Homes (THA) have designed a list, asking Santa for the gifts they wish to receive this Christmas. Officers and volunteers ask for the public's help in granting the wishes of the children, said police spokesman Sgt. Greg Collins.
TAH is a nonprofit foster care agency in Parkersburg and Fairmont. It provides foster and adoptive homes for children from birth to 18 years old. Officers have teamed up with the organization to give children a Christmas they wouldn't otherwise receive.
"The officers and staff of the Parkersburg Police Department are involved in cases all too often where children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care," said Collins. "It's very difficult to see a child's life turned upside down because of something that's not their fault."
