ATHENS - A two-vehicle accident in Athens County Monday morning left one person in critical condition.

Officers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at 8:49 a.m. on U.S. 50 and Athens County 19. Phyllis Love, 63, of New Marshfield, was driving a 2010 Toyota Rav 4 southbound on Athens County 19 when she struck a vehicle being driven by Gene Graham, who was traveling westbound on U.S. 50, police said.

Graham, 44, of Pomeroy, was taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio, by a family member, officers said. His injuries were described as minor.

Love was in critical condition at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington Monday night, according to hospital officials. She was originally taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital by Athens County EMS with incapacitating injuries, officials said. Love was flown by MedFlight to St. Mary's Medical Center shortly after, officials said.
