United Way Alliance announces Pacesetters Club membership

United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley, which raises funds for a network of health and human service agencies, publicly recognizes individuals who contribute $500 or more throughout its fall campaign. This group of donors, called The Pacesetters Club, provides the foundation upon which the rest of the community can build by recognizing the vital importance of personal giving at an exceptional level.

Linda Bechtold McCormick, 2012-13 Pacesetter Club chairman, states, "Each and every day, someone you know is helped by the United Way through its support for education, health and emergency service agencies. Your generous support serves as a powerful testament to the value of neighbor helping neighbor and the spirit of giving that is a hallmark of our Mid-Ohio Valley community.

Although there are many local businesses yet to report, there are 58 Pacesetter members who together have donated $107,590 to the United Way Alliance.

Leading the way at the Alexis deTocqueville Society ($10,000-plus) is Mary Riccobene.

Platinum Level ($5,000 to $9,999) donors are Richard and Liza Adams, Arthur and Judy Campbell, Harry and Kathe Deitzler, Harry H. Esbenshade Jr., Harry H. III and Margaret S. Esbenshade, John and Sherri Wheeler.

Those giving at the Gold Level ($2,500 - $4,999) are Arlene and Edward Borkowski, Alice M. Harris, Jan Dils and Chuck Hughes, Dr. and Mrs. Barry Louden, Frieda Owen, JT and Mary Thomas.

Those giving at the Silver Level ($1,000 to $1,499) are Janet Azinger, Todd Baucher, Judith Borger, Anne Davies, H. Smoot Fahlgren, Lee and Becky Freeman, Marie Foster Gnage, Jeanne and Jim Hayhurst, Diane and Michael Hensley, Dr. Anna E. Hughes, Jim and Martha Jackson, Betty Lutz, Frank and Dorsey Northrup, Merrell A. O'Shea, Chip and Jan Pickering, Dr. Michael and Andrea Santer, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Seita, Roger Sheppard, H. Givers at the Bronze level ($500-$999) are Alathea Alsup, Dave and Susan Armstrong, Ann Bailey, James and Ann Beck, William A. Boyle II, Joe and Marcia Campbell, Mike and Nancy Deem, Juliette L. Farson, Robert and Peggy Goldenberg, Rod and Kay Hineman, Dave and Tama Hines, Larry and Rachel Johnson, Shawn Sandy, Jack and Linda Stokes, Parnez and Neil Strobl, Phil and Amy Strobl, Jim and Suzanne Swearingen, Kathy J. Tilton, Carroll and Mary Lou Thompson, Linda T. Watkins, Tom and Margaret Webster, Dan and Sharon Wharton, Joe and Martha Winans.

"Your donation helps fund programs that build strong youth, strong families and self-sufficient individuals," states Joyce Mather, executive director of United Way Alliance. The alliance agencies serve Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wirt and Wood counties in West Virginia as well as Washington and Athens counties in Ohio. "Over 200,000 people benefited from United Way's programs and services in 2011-12," added Mather.
