John and Janice Mathews celebrated their 50th anniversary on Nov. 2. The couple resides in Washington, W.Va.
He is is the son of Mary and the late William Mathews of Vienna and retired from DuPont and the W.Va. Army National Guard.
She is the daughter of Ava and the late Doyle Hale of Belleville and is a retired nurse.

They are the parents of Jennifer (George) Triplett of Columbus, and Jacquelin (Scott) Mahaney of Williamstown.
They have four grandchildren, Logan, Luke, Faith and Landon.
They enjoy church, family activities and traveling with their camper.
