Dorothy L. Kelly, 87, a resident of Budd Terrace nursing Home at Wesley Woods in Atlanta, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at Budd Terrace, following a long illness.
She was born in Barbour County, on Nov. 5, 1924, the youngest child of the late Arthur Campbell and Sarah (Mitchell) Campbell.
Mrs. Kelly was married on July 27, 1946 to Robert Wallace "Bob" Kelly, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her first child, an infant son, Gregory Neal Kelly, as well as her four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are her son Robert Keith Kelly of Jefferson, Ga., her daughter Pat Strickland and son-in-law Ray Strickland of Tucker, Ga. as well as her grandson Ryan Strickland, granddaughter-in-law Missy Strickland and four great grandchildren, Thomas, Laila, Jack, and Everly Strickland of Marietta, Ga..
After marriage and the birth of her children, Mrs. Kelly obtained her GED and went on to graduate from Cosmetology School, after which she became the co-owner of The House of Beauty Hair Salon in Parkersburg, W.Va. She later worked for Sears Roebuck until retiring in 1978. She was a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday, Nov 5, from 8-10 a.m. the service hour with Rev.
