Margie L. McVey, 89, of Little Hocking, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at the Arcadia Nursing Home in Coolville, Ohio.
Margie was born June 12, 1923 in Leroy, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thomas and Edna (Hill) McVey. She was retired after 22 years of service to the former DeMuth Glass factory in Vienna, W.Va., where she worked in production and she was a member of the Little Hocking Church of God.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Janet Jarvis (Wayne), Little Hocking, Ohio; granddaughter, Stephanie Thorn (David), Vienna; great grandsons, J.D. and Dalton Coggeshall, both of Vienna; step great grandchildren, David Thorn (Ashley), Wooster, Ohio and Sheena Thorn of Vienna, along with her special niece, Phyllis Monroe, Vienna, and many other loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene and Gordon McVey; sisters, Eleanor Burner, Anna Evans, Ethel Parsons, Linda Myers, and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Wallace Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
