When Blair Couch won the election to serve on the Wood County Commission, one of the first boards he was asked to serve on was the Mid-Ohio Valley Board of Health. I had served on the board since 1986, therefore I knew what was expected of members of the board. I quickly learned what an asset Blair would be; he came with knowledge about the health department, and a most refreshing attitude of "teach me what I need to know." He actually listens to those he serves in Wood County, the staff of the health department, and other board members.
Blair Couch has served as president of the board of health for the past two years. He has done a wonderful job leading us through some touchy and trying decisions we needed to make for the health of individuals in not only Wood County, but in Ritchie, Pleasants, Wirt, Roane and Calhoun counties. These counties make up the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department.
Re-electing Blair Couch to remain on the Wood County Commission is a must for our county. Someone we can depend on to listen to our concerns and then to follow through.
