By Nov. 6, people across America will have made their voices known as to whom they desire to fill the many important public offices across our land. Prior to their vote, I would ask each Wood County voter to consider the following.
Nationally, the need for advances in education opportunities for our young people is an issue. Of great benefit to their education is the availability of resources and tools offered by our public libraries. On our Wood County ballots this year is a choice that can greatly increase educational opportunities for all Wood County residents. The levy proposed by the Parkersburg and Wood County Public Library would result in a modern, spacious library for south Parkersburg and enable much needed improvements to the existing library on Emerson Avenue.
While the end-cost for the levy would be minimal, the long-term result will be great for all Wood County residents. I encourage readers to vote "yes" for the "library levy."
