PARKERSBURG - First Christian Church has begun a new ministry this month called "We Appreciate You,"

The church goes to different community groups, organizations and businesses and gives them homemade goodies, some information about the church, a calendar for the month, and a note letting them know the church is praying for them every day for the given month.

For October, the church chose Fire Station #2 on 16th Street.

Included this month are handmade cards from Mrs. Collins' 6th grade classes at Edison Middle School.

This new ministry is in response to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin proclaiming Sept 29 as "Day of Service." The kids made thank you cards and the church delivered them with the basket.
