Recently, on this page, we have seen some truly outrageous claims: "Leading us down the path to socialism" ... "Deliberately ruining the country" ... "Devoid of bold honest leaders," etc.
Not one bit of evidence is ever given to support any of this outrageousness, which is understandable, for there is none. Remember folks, the country failed under Bush. Where was the outrage then? Obama inherited the worst mess ever from the worst president ever.
You don't agree Bush was the worst ever? Make a case for your nominee. You better have more than 15 good reasons. Obama has turned around all of our fiscal woes but two - some barely, some significantly. Not happy with the job situation? Not happy because there is no deficit-reduction plan in place? Then blame the House of Representatives. Bills to address both issues are languishing in the House, and have for months, because cry baby Boehner, being the loyal obstructionist that he is, won't even bring them to the floor.
We've also seen Obama condemned for bowing to a Muslim king. In my opinion, he hasn't bowed to enough Muslim kings. We have much to apologize for. For starters, a "shoot from the hip" cowboy mentality from, you guessed it, the worst president ever. Someone said recently that 9/11 is the darkest day in our history. We were attacked by 19 (out of a population of 1.2 billion) Muslims. I submit there is a darker day. The day we invaded the non-threatening nation of Iraq based solely on a lie and killing tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis. Muslims have plenty to be mad about. But, some will say, Saddam was a bad dude. There were at least a dozen bad dudes on the planet at that time. What about North Korea, or the Sudan or Cuba?
Romney wants to double down on the very policies that brought us to the brink of economic collapse. It is now documented that "trickle down" doesn't work. We're still under the Bush tax cuts -where are the jobs? He claims he will create 12 million new jobs. As governor he was 47th in the nation in job creation! His rhetoric far exceeds his governmental performance.
Given complete GOP obstructionism, Obama's record of positive accomplishment is commendable. His second term should be a slam-dunk.
