PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Technical Center is opening its doors to the community during an open house event Monday at the Parkersburg South High School campus.
The event begins at 5 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. The school will hold class demonstrations, offer food, door prizes and entertainment and kick off the night with a flagpole and courtyard dedication.
Officials hope to showcase the many programs available at the technical center.
"We want to make this a special event and a new tradition for Wood County technical education," said center director Doug Kiger. "All of our programs, including the Caperton Center, will be set up at Wood County Technical Center demonstrating skills, equipment and answering questions about technical education."
The Wood County Technical Center offers career training for students throughout Wood County in a variety of fields, including agricultural science, automotive technology, building construction technology, communications and broadcasting, child development, culinary arts, welding technology and medical skills and services.
