Danny Ray Walker

Danny Ray Walker, 50, of Munday, W.Va., passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sept. 29, 2012.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1961, a son of Irvin and Kathryn Walker. He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1980. Danny worked in the oil fields most of his life for the family owned business, Walker Well Service, operating a hot oil truck, and was very well known throughout the oil fields in Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Barbara Jo; his paternal grandmother, Olga Ferrell; one brother, Mark (Emma) Walker, all of Big Bend; his father-in-law, Bill (Linda) Dotson of Parkersburg; brother-in-law, Billy Dotson of Slate; sister-in-law, Tammy (Carl) Brandges of Parkersburg; his niece, Sara (Christopher) Doak and their daughter, Olivia, Danny's great-niece, all of Pennsboro; niece, Katie Jo Walker of Welch; nephew, Jake (Bobbie) Walker of Big Bend; nephew, Alan (Ashley) Dotson and their son, Izac, great-nephew of Danny, of Parkersburg; nephew, Ryan (Elizabeth) Dotson and their son and daughter, Kate and Little Ryan, great-niece and great-nephew of Danny, all of Slate; and special nephew, Patrick (April) Brick and their four daughters and special great-nieces of Danny's whom he adored, Hayleigh, Makenzie, Hannah and Makala, all of Parkersburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, David in 1975; maternal grandparents, Oren and Maxine Parks; paternal grandfather, Carl Walker; and step-grandfather, Russell Ferrell.

Danny enjoyed his life to the fullest, was loved by all and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church at Big Bend, W.Va. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the services. Mark Ledbetter will officiate with burial to follow in the Big Bend Cemetery.

The Stump Funeral Home of Grantsville is in charge of arrangements.
