Arnold Alexander Crihfield, 96, of Spencer, W.Va., died Oct. 2, 2012, at the Miletree Center.
Arnold was born July 20, 1916 in Jackson County, a son of the late Roy Columbus and Elizabeth Crihfield.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Swannie Westfall Crihfield; step-mother, Janie Crihfield; two grandchildren, Angela and Pippen; and an infant sister.
He was the owner and operator of Crihfield Motors in Spencer and formerly served as a county commissioner. He enjoyed farming, was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post 21.
Arnold is survived by four sons, Charles of Charleston, W.Va., Keith of Cape Coral, Fla., Gary of Spencer and Roger of Sarasota, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Rodney, Tara, David, Melissa and Bud.
Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Herman Cemetery in Harmony, W.Va. Visiting hours are from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
