Jackie E. Mercer, 71, of Walker, W.Va., passed away Sept. 24, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Aug. 8, 1941, in Parkersburg, a son of the late James and Clara Province Mercer.
Jack enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by four sisters, Mary Lyons, Ida Morrow, Ethel Smith and Donna Houston; and a large, loving extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence Mercer, Samuel Mercer and three as children; and three sisters, Ellen Perry, Mildred Elliott and Betty Harris.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Jerry Caplinger officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
