PARKERSBURG - The two men arrested last week for allegedly leaving the body of a Parkersburg woman in a trunk of a car at an area car wash are still being held, according to records from Wood County Magistrate Court.
Arthur Allen Thornton, 42, 3509 Sixth Ave., Parkersburg, and Victor Lee Thompson, 34, 906 1/2 Tygart St., Parkersburg, were arrested Friday and charged with concealing a deceased human body and conspiracy to conceal a deceased human body, both felonies, after allegedly moving the body of Brandy Marie Adams, 25, of Parkersburg, after she died.
Adams was found in the trunk of a car at the Seventh Street Car Wash Thursday night.
Thompson was being held on $150,000 bond, according to court records.
Thornton was originally taken into custody on warrants not related to Adams' death.
According to court records, he was arraigned on four charges of forgery, four charges of uttering and on a warrant for joyriding, in addition to the charges related to the deceased body.
The forgery and uttering are related to fraudulent checks Thornton allegedly tried to pass around the area. The joyriding warrant stems from an incident on July 2 when Thornton allegedly took a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix belonging to a Brandy Buracchio without consent or knowledge. The vehicle was taken from a parking lot at 2109 Pike St. in Parkersburg. The vehicle was eventually recovered around five hours later in the area of Liberty and Seventh streets.
Thornton is currently being held on $154,500 bond on all the charges.
