Carl "Bud" and Pauline George will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Oct. 12. He will also be celebrating his 85th birthday on Oct. 14.
They will be traveling to Amish country and spending time with family to celebrate the two milestones.
They were married in 1952 by the late Rev. C.T. Phillips at the Elizabeth United Methodist Church.

He is the son of the late Ezra C. and Esta C. George and was co-owner of Sims and George store in Elizabeth, and is also a retired realtor.
She is the daughter of the late Brooks B. and Edith I. Sims and is retired from Reed-Sturm Insurance Agency in Elizabeth.
They are members of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church.
They are the parents of Jeffrey K. George of Akron and Jennifer L. Cox of Elizabeth.
They have two grandchildren, Carlee A. Cox and Wesley D. Cox.
