That performance came on the heels of ''a long talk we had yesterday (Wednesday) about the direction this team wanted to go,'' said Fosselman. ''And they took it to heart and played so well tonight.''
The ''talk'' came after a 3-1 Big Red loss at Winfield Tuesday. But Fosselman was taken with PHS' goals Thursday. ''They were so beautiful, as they weren't individual goals, but team goals,'' he said, ''with the kids all looking for each other.''
Ripley head coach Tim Ross noted that ''it's been tough'' this season, what with ''replacing 39 seniors the last two years. So our guys now are pretty young and inexperienced, but they're growing and have played some really good games this year.
''But tonight, we were lethargic and on our heels. Nothing against the Big Reds, they're a very good team, but we did not play to the caliber we could have played.''
