Why did the Democratic leadership at their convention remove God from their platform? Most of us saw the controversial voice vote to put the word God (used once) back into their platform, but why had it been taken out when in all previous convention platforms the word God appeared several times? This was not an oversight and the Godless platform had been approved by the committee and President Obama prior to the controversy of adding it back caused by public uproar.
It is my belief the majority of Democrats believe in God and the principles this country was founded upon, that is, God gives us our rights not government or man. However, I have no doubt after seeing this president and his administration over the last four years they do not believe this. They believe in big government and government gives you your rights, government will take care of you, government will make the best choices for you (i.e. Obamacare).
For many reasons there has never been such a clear choice in an election for the presidency but the biggest is this. Will this country choose to remain free; will the principles our rights come from God, not man, success comes from hard work and individual responsibility and the free market prevails. That each of us has the right to make our health care choices, and should never be forced by government to violate our religious principles (i.e. forcing the Catholic Church to provide contraceptives and abortion). That we have the right to use our money as we see fit and not have government take from one and give to another.
Our country became the world's most exceptional country because it's the only country founded on the principle that our rights and freedom come from God, and our government (a small one) codified by the Constitution, built on Judea-Christian principles, was written to protect those rights not take them away. It's time "We the People" stop this massive socialistic intrusion on our principles and our government. Four more years of Obama will destroy the fabric of this nation both morally and economically.
Others may try to rebut my perspective with a racist or hateful slant on this argument but ask yourself, "Why would they take God out of their platform?" Think this through for yourself and go vote your God-given conscience.
