Tressa Minnite Goots, also known by family as "T.T" or "Aunt Treesie", 81, of Vienna, passed away Sept. 17, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Tressa was the daughter of the late Patsy Minnite and Rosa Oppedisano Minnite. She was born on March 21, 1931 in Herron, Ill. Tressa was a graduate of Victory High School with the class of 1949. She lived her life as a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was formerly employed at Hazel Atlas in Clarksburg before relocating to Paden City. Tressa enjoyed shopping, cooking and most of all taking care of her family. She loved cooking and welcomed anyone and everyone into her home.

She spent her life reaching out to others and touched the lives of anyone she encountered by simply being her generous, caring self. She was a member of St. Michael's Parish of Vienna, Mater Dolorosa Parish in Paden City and was very active in the Paden City Women's Club for years. She enjoyed bowling throughout her life at Bruce Lanes in New Martinsville and Emerson Lanes in Parkersburg. She lived her life selflessly and always took the time to let everyone in it know how much she cared about them. Whether she was spending time with each of her grandchildren, shopping or opening her home to family or friends at all hours of the day, she always put others before herself.

Tressa is survived by her two sons, John Goots (Pam) of Vienna and Joe Goots (Kim) of Parkersburg; brothers, Frank Minnite (Mary) of Paden City, Joe Minnite (Rosemarie) of Clarksburg and Pat Minnite (Judy) of Vienna; sisters, Shirley Vangilder of Bridgeport and the late Katherine Minnite of Meadowbrook, W.Va.; her grandchildren, J.R.Goots of Charleston, S.C., Katlyn Goots and Vince Goots of Morgantown and Mallory and Kelsey Goots, both of Parkersburg; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John William Goots Sr., who passed away on Oct. 10, 2005; and her sister listed above, Katherine.

A Celebration of Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 5501 4th Ave., Vienna, with the Rev. Father John Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery in the near future. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna.

In Tressa's memory, please honor her life by simply doing a random act of kindness and paying forward her goodwill.
