Donald R. Russell, 79, of Coolville, died Sept. 14, 2012, at the Kimes Nursing Center in Athens.
He was born June 13, 1933, in Coolville, Ohio, son of the late Alfred and Gladys Kincade Russell.
He retired from DuPont in 1985 as a chemical operator, and was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carole Mercer Russell; two sons, Bryan Russell and Jeff (Penny) Russell; three daughters, Katherine Taitt, Rose (Bob) Barker and Sherra (John) Thompson; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was proceeded in death by three brothers, Howard, Dean and Ed.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at Coolville United Methodist Church in Coolville from 4-8 p.m. Monday.
