Kenneth Ashford Hinton, 79, passed away Sept. 14, 2012, at his residence in Mineral Wells, W.Va.
He was born June 2, 1933, in Ellenboro, W.Va., son of the late Howard N. and Esther M. Richards Hinton.
Kenneth was a graduate of the 1952 class of Cairo High School, served in the Army as an M.P. during the Korean conflict and retired from DuPont. He was also a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and a charter member of the PMBS Volunteer Fire Department of Mineral Wells.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet Duckworth Hinton; three sons, Philip and wife Sheila Hinton, Mark and wife Sherry Hinton of Mineral Wells and Steve Hinton and his significant other, Tina Locke, of Belpre, Ohio; one sister, Laura Lee Jones of Parkersburg; three brothers, Edward Hinton of Harrisville, W.Va., and Harold and Gene Hinton, both of Fort Pierce, Fla. Kenneth is also survived by several grandchildren, Tiffany Spellman and husband, Roy, of Mineral Wells, Justin of Corpus Christi, Texas, Charise of California, Michael Harpold of Kansas and Scott Harpold of Parkersburg; seven great-grandchildren with another one expected in the Spring of 2013; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond; infant sister, Estalene; and mother and father-in-law, Clint and Ruby Duckworth.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Clark and the Rev. Chris Duckworth officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va.
