Aubry Earl Sands, 72, of Williamstown, W.Va., passed away Sept. 8, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 7, 1940, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Earl A. and Artie O. Stephens Sands. Aubry was a 1958 graduate of Williamstown High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Williamstown. He was retired from Air Products where he was a truck driver. Aubry owned and operated many local businesses including homebuilding, S&R and Ole Country Processing; co-owner of United Livestock Sales; and owner of Ohio River Feeds.
For over 30 years, he was a supporter and volunteered his time to the FFA as the auctioneer for the 4-H livestock sales. He enjoyed attending Williamstown High School football games. He was an avid hunter and an honorary lifetime member of the Little Kanawha Hunt Club, where he enjoyed working his bird dogs. He enjoyed spending his time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Aubry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Connie Reynolds Sands; his children, Denise Sands Burch of Parkersburg and Andy (Heather) Sands of Milford Center, Ohio; grandchildren, Emily Burch and Talbott and Sarah Sands; and sisters, Wanda Bennett of Vienna and Patty (Rex) Anderson of Belpre, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Wayne, Donnie, Clyde, Harlan "Bud" Sands, Lona Ritchie and Nieta Nicholas.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with Pastor David Easter officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
