Lucy Marie Holtz Cook, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away Sept. 8, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frank C. and Lola R. Gray Holtz.
Lucy had worked at Arlington Nursing Home, Parkersburg Doctor's Care and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working with her flowers and being in the outdoors. She was Baptist by faith.
She is survived by her children, Samuel A. Cook Jr. and wife, Elsie, of Pettyville, W.Va., Danny Cook and wife, Doris, of Parkersburg and Shonia Balderson and husband, David, of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel "Archie" Cook; her daughter, Joyce Ann Cook; her son, William "Randy" Cook; five sisters, her twin, Mary Elizabeth Holtz, Alice Hardesty, Virginia McDonald, Mildred Hurst and Frances Foglesong; and two brothers, William and Frank Holtz.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with Evangelist Randy Yerby officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family request that donations be made to the Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department.
