Women’s group plans retreat

The Beverly United Methodist Women have scheduled their third annual Women's Retreat for Saturday, September 15, from 9:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Beverly United Methodist Church is located at 700 Park Street in Beverly, OH. This non-denominational event is open to all area women.

This year's theme is "Life: What a Trip". The day features several mini-workshops throughout the day, a luncheon, and a morning keynote speaker. This year's speaker is the Reverend Kimberly Arbaugh and members of the Kilgore/Harsh Memorial United Methodist Churches speaking about their trip to Senegal to help install waterlines.

Morning "Trip Tiks" choices and speakers include: 'Detour' Lee Ann Price, representing the Washington County Suicide Prevention group; 'A Trip-A Trip-A Trip' Sara Beardsley, discussing international travel; "Traveling Mercies' a book review by Susanne Burchett of Ann Lamott's book 'Traveling Mercies'; and 'Life in Senegal: What a Trip!' The Rev. Kinberly Arbaugh and group doing a follow-up of their experience in Senegal.

Afternoon "Trip Tiks" selections and speakers include: 'Getting Back on Track' Paula Cassady representing Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon Family Groups; 'Spiritual Baggage' Rev. Karen Graham, Pastor of the New Concord United Methodist Church sharing what to keep and what to 'toss' in your spiritual life; and 'Ready, Set, Go' Bonnie Hutchins, Peggy Jones, and Charlotte Kitts sharing about the Beverly church's exercise program.
