Roane County 20
SPENCER -Ritchie County bounced back strong from last week's loss to St. Marys, taking a 42-20 Little Kanawha Conference win here Friday night over Roane County.
Tyler Reed rushed for 125 yards and scored three touchdowns for the Rebels (1-1), who took a 21-6 halftime lead and never looked back. Rebel quarterback Trevor Shepler completed nine of his 14 passes for 184 yards and a pair of scores to Reed.
Roane County (1-1) got a pair of scores from quarterback Hunter Bradley.
Roane entertains Ravenswood next Friday night while Ritchie County entertains Clay County.
Braxton County 20,
Clay County 12
SUMMERSVILLE -Braxton County quarterback Jacob Yanero scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a 20-12 win over visiting Clay County here Friday night in a Little Kanawha Conference contest.
Yanero scored on runs of 25 and 39 yards as the Eagles rallied from a 12-7 deficit. During the third quarter, Yanero threw a 57-yard pass to Derrick Barnett, one of just two Braxton completions.
Yanero finished with 158 yards on 16 carries. Clay got a 147 yard effort from Jordan Lucas, who scored on a 30-yard run. Clay quarterback Will Stewart scored the Panthers other TD on an 8-yard run.
Braxton (2-0) will travel to Philp Barbour while Clay County (0-2) visits Ritchie County next Friday.
Van 44, Paden City 18
PADEN CITY -Paden City stayed even with visiting Van for a quarter here Friday night but a 20-point second quarter by the Bulldogs sent Van on its way to a 44-18 win over the Wildcats.
Van (1-1) got 103 yards rushing Tyler Workman, who scored a pair of TDs, as did both Brandon Elswick and Brandon Perry. Paden City tied the game at 6 on a 16-yard TD by Brandon Cross, who scored all three of the Wildcats touchdowns, rushing for 147 yards on 26 carries.
The Wildcats (0-2) entertain Bellaire St. Johns next Friday night.
Doddridge County 26,
Tyler Consolidated 24
WEST UNION -Doddridge County scored with no time on the clock here Friday night to come-from-behind and beat Tyler Consolidated, 26-24, in a Little Kanawha Conference contest.
Bulldog quarterback David Lipscomb, facing a do-or-die situation at the Tyler 20, hit Daniel Plaugher with a 20-yard game-winning TD pass to end a thrilling, evenly-matched contest.
Lipscomb threw for a pair of TDs and rushed for one as the Bulldogs raised their record to 2-0 under first-year head coach Bobby Burnside. Wyatt Ford rushed for 97 yards for the Bulldogs and Jeffrey Bunnell returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score.
Tyler got a 71-yard rushing TD from Alex Doak and a pair of TD passes from Hunter Lemasters to Levi Henderson.
Doddridge (2-0) travels to Calhoun County next Friday while Tyler Consolidated visits Magnolia.
Eastern 47, Miler 6
REEDSVILLE, Ohio - Quarterback Joey Scowden rushed for 208 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries Friday night as host Eastern (1-1) rolled over Miller (0-2) 47-6 in a TVC game.
Scowden scored on runs of 65, 3 and 15 yards, and Ethan Nottingham, who rushed for 89 yards on seven carries, tallied from 7, 4 and 35 yards out while Zack Scowden returned an interception 55 yards for a TD.
Eastern next plays at Wahama next Friday.

Calhoun County 46, Sherman 26
MT. ZION - Logan Moore ran for one touchdown and finished with 26 carries for 249 yards to help lead Calhoun County to a 46-26 victory here Friday night against visiting Sherman.
Aaron Lowe had kickoff returns for touchdowns from 79 and 78 yards for Sherman, which fell to 0-2.
Trent Phillips had a 3-yard scoring run while Cole Ritchie had TDs from 2 and 5 yards out for the Red Devils, who improved to 2-0 and welcome Doddridge County to town next Friday.
Kirkland Allen had a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for the victors, who also had Joseph Richards catch a 25-yard TD strike from Moore.
