Watch out for red light runners

August 19, 2012
Parkersburg News and Sentinel

Until certain drivers in Parkersburg become more safety conscious, please pause after the traffic light turns green. Otherwise, your vehicle may be struck by a red light runner.

If a person is running a red light because he is busy, then he is too busy. Also it's as if beating a red light has almost become the fashionable thing to do. If there is anything that gets my goat, it's to see the expression on a person's face as he flies though a red light. A guilty look is not one of them.

It's one thing if a person is willing to risk his own life due to running a red light. However, to risk the lives of those in his vehicle or the lives in the other vehicle is unconscionable. A person may not intentionally run a red light. However, I believe many times a person runs a red light because he is not paying enough attention to his driving. Instead talking on the cell phone seems to be more important than driving his vehicle.
