PARKERSBURG - The seventh annual Taste of Parkersburg needs volunteers.
The mid-September festival of food, wine, beer and music at Third and Market streets needs at least 150 volunteers to be successful, said Lance Flaherty, who co-chairs the volunteers committee with Dave Argabrite.
Flaherty, human resources manager at the Blennerhassett Hotel, said about half of the needed number of volunteers has signed up for the Sept. 14-15 event.
Volunteers, 18 years old and older, are needed for general setup, vendor and volunteer check-in, entrance gates, roving vendor coupon sales, vendor supply and support, concessions, wine and beer pouring.
Volunteers do not have to work during the entire festival and will be permitted to enjoy the festivities, Flaherty said.
Volunteers will receive free entry, a wine or beer glass and a logo T-shirt. Consecutive five-year volunteers will get a logo wine glass lanyard.
Groups of 10 or more volunteers from an organization or business will be recognized in advertising and promotional materials, Flaherty said.
"We couldn't have the event without these volunteers," Flaherty said.

Volunteers will be contacted before the event.
