PARKERSBURG - The Volunteer Action Center of the Mid-Ohio Valley is taking part in the 30th annual Parkersburg Homecoming with its fourth annual Harley Raffle.

Tickets are still available for the 2011 Harley Davidson Street Bob with Samson exhaust, said executive director Katy Sulfridge.

"It is a really nice looking Harley," Sulfridge said.

Each ticket for the chance to win the motorcycle is $100 with all proceeds from the ticket sales going to the community organization, which matches individuals with volunteer opportunities in the community.

"We still have tickets available to anyone who wants a chance or two to own the Harley," Sulfridge added.

The drawing for the motorcycle will take place Aug. 19 on the Suddenlink Stage with Charlie Daniels of the Charlie Daniels Band drawing the winning ticket. The ticket will be drawn just before the Charlie Daniels Band begins its show.

Whoever wins the Harley Davidson will also have an opportunity to meet and have a photo taken with the legendary singer, Sulfridge said.

"Getting to meet Charlie Daniels is worth the price of the raffle ticket, I think," Sulfridge said.

Tickets for the Harley raffle can be purchased by contacting the Volunteer Action Center by phone at 304-424-3457 or on its website at www.vacmov.org.

Volunteers will also be selling tickets at upcoming events, including the McClinton Chevrolet Car Show on Friday and the Parkersburg Farmers' Market on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tickets will also be available during Parkersburg Homecoming, up to the time of the drawing.
