These second grade students at Beverly-Center Elementary School were honored at the school's end-of-the-year awards program.
In Mrs. Hanes' class : Maintaining an "E" average all year in 4 subject areas - Megan Bohl, Casey Brooker, Carlee Nelson, Bella Schilling, Lilli Schilling, and Catie Sleek; in 3 subject areas Katie Muir and Malcolm Sargent; in 2 areas Garrett Lipot; in 1 area McShayne Riley.
Individual awards were earned by: Blake Gossett Improved Participation; Halah Anderson Most Independent; Ian Ellis Most Improved in English; Breanna Hill Most Improved in Spelling; David Kitts Effort Award; Sierra Powell Best Attitude; Layne Schaad Potential to be Sweetest; Isaiah Wright Most Artistic.
In Mr. Fronko's class: Pizza Hut 'Book It' reading program Ethyn Zimmer, 6 months; Chris Cain, Kenzie Cary, Hannah Offenberger, and Isis Streight 5 months. Academic Achievement with yearly "E" average in academic subjects: 3 areas Julia Bee, Kenzie Cary, Betty Price, Khloe Roe, Diamond Scott, Clerissa Starkey, Zack Vance, and Zeke Hooper; 4 areas Chris Cain, Sam Garvin, Hannah Offenberger, and Brayden Wright; 6 areas Becca Arnold, Astin Clark, Katie Horner, Mady Kemp, Maeson Long, Arianne Pollock, Isis Streight, Cameron Tennant, and Ethyn Zimmer.

Everyone who participated in the Summer Reading Program at the Beverly Public Library this summer and turned in their completed record sheets by July 14 is reminded to stop in to the library by Thursday, July 26 to pick up their treat bags. Tickets for the Summer Reading Pool Party will be in the treat bags. The pool party is scheduled for this Thursday from 7-9 pm at the Beverly Pool. Swimmers must have a ticket from their summer reading treat bag to be admitted to the party.
Readers participating in the Saturday Book Club are encouraged to pick up a copy of August's selection, "The Hound of the Baskervilles" to prepare for the August 18 club meeting.
