John and Debbie Karas of Devola will celebrate their 40th anniversary July 9.
They were married on July 9, 1972, in Plainfield, N.J.
He is the son of the Rose Karas of Mingo Junction, Ohio and the late John "Yonk" Karas.

She is the daughter of the late Harold and Helen Horel.
Both John and Debbie are retired teachers, teaching their entire career for Marietta City School District. They now both teach part-time at St. Mary Catholic School in Marietta.
They have three children, Jennifer (Ben) of Marietta, Brian (Betsy) of Westerville and Todd (Meaghan) of Upper Arlington.
They have six grandchildren, Claire and Katelyn Schenkel, Andy, Kellen, Ashlin and Michael Karas.
They will have an anniversary dinner with their family at the Buckley House.
