Cain Reunion will be held at the Embree Park on Sunday with dinner at 1 p.m. Those attending should bring covered dishes.
Food giveaway will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ
Taxable items to be given to those in need will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Pennsville United Methodist Church.
Pennsville Volunteer Fire Department will meet at 8 p.m. Monday at the firehouse.
Father's Day Pancake and Sausage Breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., June 16 at Pennsville United Methodist Church, for the youth. There will be a freewill offering. Public invited.
Pennsville Volunteer Fire Department will be observing their 60th year this year,
Parade will be on June 16 stepping off at 5 p.m. in front of the Embree Park. Line up will be in front of Embree Park on Ohio 377 in Pennsville. Following the parade, there will be refreshments available and trophies presented at the firehouse. This is where the festival will take place as well. Trophies will be awarded. Homemade ice cream will be available.
Children's games and entertainment and the princess contestants will be there for the princess contest.
VBS will be held on June 24-27 at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning and will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Monday through Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend.
Ruth G. Scott visited with her son and family in Traverse City, Mich., over the weekend. Jane Bole accompanied Ruth and she reported they went several places Ruth had not seen before.
Mae Milhoan received word recently that her cousin, Ernest Smith of Canton, Ohio, passed away.
He was born near the Liberty Hill church in Homer Township to James and Addic Jones Smith. He was 92 years old and leaves his widow, Kathy Smith and three children. His sister, Nettie Holdcroft of New Lexington survives.
Dick Mason of Pataskala visited recently with Mary Yerian of Glouster. He is the cousin of Mary and Mac Milhoan. Other visitors at the home were Ron and Judy Yerian of Lancaster. After visiting with Mary they attended Ron's 50 year graduation class at Glouster High School. The reunion was held at the Bishopville Church of Christ.
On Friday, there was a baseball game between Kent State and Kentucky College. Kent State won the game after 7 1/2 hours and 21 innings.
On Saturday, Bev Sidwell and Mae Milhoan went to New Lexington shopping and out to dinner.
