Sewer is about money

May 27, 2012
Parkersburg News and Sentinel

As has been reported earlier in several letters to the editor, you know what tricks the commissioners have pulled to install an unwanted sewer, by some residents, here is one that beats all. The reason for the sewer for us and others in Washington County is money. They, if the truth be known, only care about revenue they can make. Their major plan after some residents complained, was to divide and conquer Woodlawn Acres. When some very interesting questions were asked at the last meeting, April 26, the Commissioners decided to personally call a resident and try to persuade them to join others who were told they must be on the new sewer, and divide our neighbors more so than they have already done.

They figure if they can get some on our side of Woodlawn, who do not have to go onto the new sewer, to agree to their ploy they would then be able to force the others onto their wonderful sewer line. By doing this they would get 20 or so more homes to pay their $56 a month. More revenue for them. And don't forget they, the Commissioners, set the price of $56. Who knows what the price will be next year, or the year after. Started out at $18 several years ago and now $56. Now that's inflation, and you think our gas and groceries are high.

I'm just giving you things to think about when you vote this November. I will be glad to answer any questions. This is not just someone complaining, it is about accountability and honesty. We elect these people to work for us not against us.
