Denny and Kay Nelson of Cairo announce the engagement of their daughter, Betsy Marie, to Robert Devin Wells, son of Roger and Nancy Wells of Pennsboro.
She is the granddaughter of Dicie Scott and the late Leonard M. Scott of Smithville and Calvin and Betty Nelson of Cairo. She is a 2007 graduate of Ritchie County High School and a 2011 graduate of Glenville State College with a degree in elementary education specializing in early childhood. She is a reading specialist at Doddridge County Elementary.
She has been hired to teach preschool at Smithville Elementary in the fall.

He is the grandson of Billie and Patty Cox and Betty and the late William Wells of Harrisville. He is a 2006 graduate of Ritchie County High School and is set to graduate from Glenville State College in December with a degree in physical education with a specialization in health.
He is employed at Hall Drilling.
