VIENNA - Sam's Club will open a pharmacy this month, with services available to both members and non-members.

The grand opening of the Sam's Club Pharmacy will be May 17, at 1100 Grand Central Ave. in Vienna.

Sarah Deem, a graduate of Parkersburg High School and West Virginia University, will be a primary pharmacist along with Lisa Stephens.

The site will also employ three technicians.

"The pharmacy will be a wonderful addition to the club," said Deem. "Members will be able to shop while they wait for their prescriptions."

The pharmacy will provide personalized service, including consultations.

"We will be able to work one on one with patients, and give them that personal attention," said Deem.

"We will also provide a list of $4 and $10 medications so customers can make informed decisions. The list will be available for people to take with them to a doctor's office to help them discuss more affordable medicines with their physician. There will be significant savings on a lot of medications."

The pharmacy will be open to members and non-members.

Deem said the pharmacy has already been board-inspected, and only a few final steps remains before the grand opening.

"We are excited to be a part of the community," she said. "We welcome anyone to stop in. Pharmacists are great resources for people."

The new pharmacy is part of a large-scale interior remodel of Sam's Club, which will be complete in September.
