PARKERSBURG - The Downtown Farmers' Marketplace will hold an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Blennerhassett Hotel. Organizers will review the market rules and regulations as well as the 2012 vendor application. Organizers will also discuss activities and promotions being planned for this year.
Rickie Yeager, Parkersburg's planning administrator, said officials are looking at a Farm to Consignment Table for growers who wish to sell their products but do not have the time to staff a booth.
Ann Conageski, city development director, said market organizers are trying to attract additional vendors for this season.
"The market would like to make more meat and dairy products available to customers in particular," Conageski stated in a press release.
The market would also like to attract more hot, prepared food vendors.
"This will not only benefit the people who work and do business downtown, but make the market and greater downtown area a destination center for residents and visitors alike," Yeager stated in the release.
