Olson—Jedlicka

Kristin Marie Olson and Petr Jedlicka were united in marriage on March 3 at St. Clement's church in Prague, Czech Republic. The Rev. Ricky Yates, missioner to the Anglican Episcopal parish in Prague, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. He was assisted by Kvetoslav Krejci, Lay vice president of the Czech Old Catholic Church, to conduct the bilingual service before a congregation of Czech and American relatives and friends.

The bride is the daughter of Carol and Allan Olson of Lewisburg, formerly of Parkersburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Loretta and James Roper of Parkersburg and the late Svea and Axel Olson of Greenwich, Conn. She is a 1985 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a 1989 graduate of Brown University with a bachelor's degree in comparative literature. She is the founder and owner of Kristin Olson Literary Agency in Prague.

The groom is the son of Svatoslava and Milan Jedlicka of Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic. He is the grandson of the late Anastazie and Ludvik Vobratilek of Redice, Czech Republic, and the late Frantiska and Emanuel Jedlicka of Rokytno, Czech Republic. He is a graduate of Gymnazium J.K. Tyl and a 2000 graduate of Charles University with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree in theoretical sociology. He is the founder and owner of Alperg Communications.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her parents. She wore an empire waist gown of ivory silk shantung. Pieces of antique Alencon lace from her mother's wedding gown adorned the bodice. She carried a bouquet of white roses.

The matron of honor was the bride's sister, Jane Olson, of Sound Beach, N.Y. She wore a plum-colored street-length dress. Three flower girls preceded the bridal party to the altar. Julia Margulies, niece of the bride, and sisters Frantiska and Marianka Bartoskova, friends of the bride and groom, were dressed in long ivory a-line gowns with matching forest green sashes. They carried baskets of white rose petals ,which were gathered after the ceremony to toss after the newly married couple.

Jiri Safr, friend of the groom, served as best man. Readings were given by the bride's mother and Gabina Hruskova, niece of the groom.

A reception was held at the cupola on the top of the Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg on Wenceslas Square, with food, drinks and a four-layered chocolate cake with mascarpone icing and topped with fresh strawberries.

The couple resides in Prague.
