Together with their families, Sarah Elizabeth Dye of Mineral Wells and Kevin Alan Mahaffey of Parkersburg announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of John H. and Elizabeth A. Dye of Mineral Wells. She is the granddaughter of Alice Keffer, the late William E. Keffer of Parkersburg and Edgar P. Dye and the late Violet E. Dye of Mineral Wells. She is a 2002 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, a 2008 graduate of Glenville State College with a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education and a 2012 graduate of Salem International University with a master's degree in educational technology. She is a teacher for Wood County Schools.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Michael S. and Linda S. Mahaffey of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of Dennie and Margie Lyons of Parkersburg and Howard and Lucille Mahaffey of Parkersburg. He is a 1995 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and has a bachelor's degree in information technology. He is working toward a master's degree in information assurance from Capital College.

An open church wedding is planned for June 23 at Broadway Church of the Nazarene in Parkersburg. After a honeymoon cruise in the Caribbean, the couple will reside in south Parkersburg.
