Richard and Ruth Stanley of Pomeroy, Ohio, are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
They were married on March 2, 1962, at the First Methodist Church of Williamstown.
He is the son of the late Hubert Stanley and Virginia Stanley and is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a retiree of Chevron/Phillips of Marietta.

She is the daughter of the late Donald and Nellie Butler and is a retired hairdresser/homemaker.
They are the parents of Amanda (Kenny) Caplinger and David (Kristi) Stanley, all of Ravenswood, and have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
They enjoy camping in the mountains of West Virginia. Both are actively involved in their church Restoration Fellowship in Pomeroy.
An open reception is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. March 3 at the Kounty Resort Campground (previously Royal Oak) Lodge in Pomeroy.
