ST. MARYS - K.D. Arnett tallied a career-high 31 points to pace No. 1 St. Marys over visiting No. 2 Weirton Madonna 64-60 Saturday in a battle of the top two Class A boys basketball teams in the state.
The now 18-0 Blue Devils also got 12 points from Derek Renner while Madonna was led by Nick Battista with 16 points, Clay Rokisky with 13 and Ross Comis with 11.
Arnett's point total surpassed his previous high of 26 just one day before on Friday night versus Williamstown.

STEWART, Ohio - Host Federal Hocking nipped Belpre 52-49 Saturday night as the Lancers outscored the Golden Eagles 14-9 in the fourth quarter.
Federal was led by Chris Sailor with 16 points, followed by Shawn Parsons wirth 12, Corey Rex with nine and Max Carney with eight.
Belpre (13-5, 12-2 TVC Hocking) got 16 points from Dakota Hoffman, 15 from Jake Ullman and eight from Nick Therriault.
Belpre next plays at Eastern on Tuesday.

South B wins Hughes title
WINFIELD -Parkesburg South's B team won the Bill Hughes Invitational here Saturday as the Patriot reserves amassed 103 points.
South crowned a pair of champions in Chase Warner at 138 pounds and Austin Harris at 113. Placing second for the Patriots were Logan Ball (106), Tyler Windland (113), Dylan Alexander (126), Kyle Knotts (!32) and Damon Gandee (152).
Colten Nangle (106), Braidon Knotts (120), Trayce Broadwater (170) and Dane Mills (285) placed third while Sloan McConnell (132) and Tyler Koreski-Newhart (160) were fourth.
Belpre third at TVC meet
WATERFORD, Ohio -Belpre placed third at the Tri Valley Conference meet on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles of coach Scott Adams crowned a champion in 195-pounder Jamie Barrett. Derek Harris (170) was second while Zack Davis (113), Daniel Law (120), Mike Lockhart (126), Todd Packard (145) and Tyler Martin (182) placed third.
Athens won the meet with 421 points, followed by Newlsonville-York with 385, Belpre 240, Alexander 167, Meigs 153, Waterford 148, Wahama 65, and Trimble 46.
Waterford crowned a champion as Austin Lang won the 126-pound title. Third-place finishers for the Wildcats were Zeb Offenberger (106), Travis Efaw (138) and Hunter Munjas (170).
