Leanne Jeanette Shutts and Steven Wayne Deem were united in marriage Sept. 17, 2011.

The double-ring ceremony was held at the Celebration Center in Belpre and was officiated by Pastor Robert Clegg.

The bride is the daughter of Bradford and Janet Shutts of Belpre. She is the granddaughter of John "Jack" and Patricia Horner and the late Paul and Ottie Shutts, all of Belpre.

The groom is the son of Larry and Jane Deem of Belpre and the grandson of the late Delbert and Evelyn Deem of Belpre and the late Paul and Pauline Alkire of Parkersburg.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted down the aisle by her father.

She wore a detailed, fitted bodice ivory dress which flowed into a soft and flowing chiffon skirt. The empire waist was accented with hand-beaded lace and ruching detail and was strapless with an A-line silhouette.

The back of the gown had beaded lace detail from waist to hem and a chapel train.

She wore her Ohio State flip flops, garter and earrings. She carried a bouquet of orange roses.

Sadie Johnson, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor and Erica Taylor, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jillian Starcher and Jennifer Schau, friends of the bride; Courtney Shutts, sister-in-law of the bride; and Molli Shutts, sister of the bride. Flower girls were Krislyn Shutts, niece of the bride, and Meggan Starcher, friend of the bride.

Wayne Alkire, uncle of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were John Shutts and Spencer Shutts, brothers of the bride; and Kaleb and Aaron Deem, sons of the groom. Jack Kinzy, friend of the bride and groom, served as ring bearer.

Guests were seated by Kaleb and Aaron Deem as well as Isaiah Johnson, friend of the bride. Guests were registered by Lajuana Cisneros, aunt of the bride. Music was provided before and during the ceremony by Julie Harrell, friend of the bride and guitarist, Matthew Greathouse.

Following the ceremony, a picnic style buffet dinner was served at the Shriner's Club in Belpre. Entertainment was provided by Dee Alkire, cousin of the groom. A cupcake tower was also served to guests.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Belpre High School and is employed by the The Worthington Center in Belpre.

The groom is a 1992 graduate of Belpre High School and a 2010 graduate of Washington State Community College.

He is pursuing his bachelor's degree in education from West Virginia University at Parkersburg and is employed by Lowes .

After a honeymoon to New Smyrna Beach, Fla., the couple resides in Little Hocking.
