WOMEN

Alderson-Broaddus 55,

Ohio Valley University 48

VIENNA -Alderson-Broaddus outscored Ohio Valley University 11-2 in the final four minutes of overtime and defeated the Fighting Scots 55-48 Thursday night at the Snyder Activity Center.

OVU led by as many as 14 points in the first half on a jumper from Andrea Collins which left A-B trailing 23-9 with 6:19 remaining before intermission.

A-B climbed to within 28-19 at halftime then used a 12-5 run early in the second half to cut the deficit to one at 34-33 with 14 minutes left in regulation.

A-B (4-6, 2-5 WVIAC) finally overtook OVU at 43-42 when Zipporah Tidwell made one of two free throws with 2:13 showing on the clock. Dakeisha Mann's bucket with 14 seconds left put the Fighting Scots back on top at 44-43, but A-B's Nautica Davis knocked down the back end of a two-shot foul to tie the game at 44 at three seconds.

OVU (7-6, 3-4 WVIAC) briefly enjoyed a lead at 46-44 in the extra session on a field goal from Shante Cummings at the 4:19 mark.

Cummings led OVU with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Teammate Amber Avery added 10 points and 11 boards.

Tidwell ended the game with a team-high 14 points and 10 rebounds.

MEN

Alderson-Broaddus 78,

Ohio Valley University 63

VIENNA Alderson-Broaddus came from behind and recorded a 78-63 road win at Ohio Valley University Thursday.

Kurklin Bohanon narrowly missed a double-double after scoring a game-high 21 points and pulling down nine rebounds for the Battlers. Casey Ainslie poured in 18 points to go along with seen boards while O'Dell Eargle reached double figures with 14 points off the bench.

Austin Cunningham and Rodney Everage each accounted for a team-high 17 points in the loss for OVU. Kendall Allison almost had a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Brooks scored eight points and dished out a game-high six assists in 26 minutes of play.

A-B reeled off 45 points in the second half on 16-of-32 shooting from the floor, outscoring the Fighting Scots by 19 to secure the win. OVU connected on 43.4 percent of its attempts for the game and drained seven 3-point shots.
