Whitney Teryn Blackburn and Michael Lee Waseity were united in a double-ring ceremony on July 9 at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Canton. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Jeff Stealey.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Elaine Blackburn of Belpre. She is a 2005 graduate of Belpre High School, a 2009 graduate of Ursuline College in Cleveland and a 2011 graduate of Malone University in Canton where she received a master's degree in business administration. She has been employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Akron since May 2009 as a program support assistant.
The groom is the son of Joan and the late Michael Waseity of Canton. He is a 2002 graduate of Perry High School in Massillon, Ohio. He is employed at Shears Foods in Brewster, Ohio, as a warehouse management systems administrator.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father.
The bride wore a strapless white organza gown with a bustier design featuring a pattern of silver embroidery and crystals throughout the entire bodice and corset.
A bouffant skirt with scattered beaded medallions and crystals with a matching embroidery pattern adorned the hemline to accent the long cathedral train.
She carried a bouquet of mixed calla lilies and yellow roses tied in a white satin ribbon.
The maid of honor was Jessica Wood from Warren, Ohio, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Dru Perren of Canal Fulton, Ohio, friend of the bride; Amy Highland of Belpre, friend of the bride; Kristen Waseity of Canton, sister of the groom; and Amanda Davis of Athens, cousin of the bride. They wore buttercup floor-length dresses and carried a bouquet of three long stem calla lilies.
The groom wore an all-white tuxedo and white vest with a single yellow rose on his lapel. Serving as best man was friend of the groom, Thomas Pfaus of Canton. Groomsmen were Matt Warden, Brandon Pierce, Dave Lones and Aaron Shaffer, all friends of the groom of Canton. The groomsmen wore gray tuxedos with buttercup vest and ties also with a single calla lilie boutonniere.
Ushers were Brett Riffey of Vincent, and Robbie Marhoover of Jackson, Ohio, both cousins of the bride; Brian Gamble of Canton, friend of the groom; and Ryan Murray of New York, N.Y., friend of the groom.
Readings were given by Christy Davis, aunt of the bride, and Bret Wackerly, friend of the couple. Soloist for the ceremony was Susan Hickman, friend of the bride's parents.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party took a limousine ride to the McKinley Monument for pictures and then to the wedding reception at the Knights of Columbus in Massillon, Ohio. Music was provided by Greg Ring, a friend of the bride's parents.
Tables were adorned in tall vases with arrangements of long stem calla lilies and yellow roses and three tiered candelabras. A four tier square cake was accented with silver ribbon and flowers of petite calla lilies. The cake consisted of vanilla and chocolate flavors with a butter creme icing.
Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Canton.
