She is a 1998 graduate of Marietta High School and is a sales specialist at Suddenlink Communications.
The prospective bridegoom is the son of Mark and Tina Gates of Cutler.
He is the grandson of Marjorie Newell and the late Rod Newell of Parkersburg.
He is a 2000 graduate of Belpre High School and is employed at Tri State Sheet Metal and Roofing.
A wedding is planned for April 14, 2012.
