Together with their parents, Jamie Krystine Bumgarner of Newton, N.C., and Nathan Daniel Lang of Marietta announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of William and Donna Bumgarner of Newton. She is the granddaughter of Jack and Francis Bumgarner of Hickory, N.C., and the late Ray and Vera Williams of Cleveland. She is a 2005 graduate of St. Stephens High School and a 2010 graduate of Catawba Valley Community College with an associate's degree in nursing. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree at Western Carolina University and is set to graduate in 2012. She is a registered nurse with Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Daniel and Catherine Lang of Lowell. He is the grandson of Patsy Hendershot of Waterford and Marilyn Lang and the late Richard Lang of Lowell. He is a 2003 graduate of Marietta High School and a 2010 graduate of Belmont Abbey College with a bachelor's degree in business management. He is employed by Rexroth Bosch Group GmHb in Charlotte, N.C.
