PARKERSBURG - College students throughout the region are preparing for a new semester of classes, while some are still finishing their summer terms.
For several area and state colleges, August marks the start of the fall semester.
Students at West Virginia University in Morgantown and West Virginia University at Parkersburg begin classes Aug. 22, with the days leading up to the beginning of the semester reserved for registration and orientation.

Ohio Valley University students are set to return to the Vienna campus during the next several weeks, with classes slated to begin Aug. 24.
West Virginia University will hold new student orientation Thursday and general registration on Friday. The last day to register for courses or make changes is Aug. 26.
Marshall University's residence halls open for freshmen on Monday and for upperclassmen on Saturday. The first day of classes is Aug. 22.
Ohio Valley University in Vienna will hold a student move-in-day and orientation Saturday. New student registration will be held Aug. 22 and the first day of classes will be Aug. 24.
